Telmex Peru and America Movil, which operates in Peru under the Claro brand name, have rolled out their operations merger process, local newspaper E Comercio reports, citing America Movil's commercial manager Rodrigo Arosemena. "We have started the merger process between Claro and Telmex, which will strengthen our position [on the Peruvian market] and will turn us into the largest communications group in Latin America", Arosemena said. The merger is the result of Telmex Interntacional's (Telint's) acquisition by America Movil announced at the beginning of this year. Arosemena declined to give an exact date for the merger completion.
