Telstra's 6-month revenue falls nearly 3%, estimates bushfire impact at AUD 50 million

Australian operator Telstra saw its revenue for the six months ended 31 December 2019 fall 2.8 percent year-on-year to AUS 13.4 billion. Net profit decreased 6.4 percent to AUD 1.2 billion, while reported EBITDA for the first half was AUD 4.8 billion. Telstra said it incurred one-off costs related to the recent bushfires of around AUD 10 million during the half-year period, which included assistance to customers, refunds and donations. It also anticipated the total impact of the bushfires on Telstra to be in the order of AUD 50 million.
