TKK holds LTE auction meeting with mobile operators
Austria's telecommunications control commission (TKK) held a meeting with mobile network operators A1 Telekom, T-Mobile Austria and Hutchison Drei Austria on 11 November to discuss their concerns about the recent LTE spectrum auction. The aim of the meeting was to give the parties the opportunity to assert their rights and legal interests. The hearing was not open to the public to avoid any trade or business secrets being revealed. The TKK will now consider the operators' arguments and announce its decision in the coming weeks.

Outgoing Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene Obermann has criticised the 'absurdly high price' of LTE frequencies in Austria, reports the APA. 3 Austria is not happy with the results from the spectrum auction, although the company acquired 900 MHz and 1800 MHz spectrum. CEO Jan Trionow said that the auction led to too high prices and that 3 Austria was able to limit the financial damage to EUR 330 million, but calls the auction a disaster for the Austrian mobile sector.
