
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has started an official recall campaign for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The regulatory body will work with Samsung to inform consumers and coordinate collection of the the nearly 1 million phones in the US by operators and retailers.
The CPSC said users should not use the phone due to the risk of overheating and burning; 92 reports of the batteries overheating in the US have been received by Samsung already, including 26 reports of burns.
Customers should contact the seller of their phone to receive a free replacement or refund. Samsung said it will have replacement devices available in the US "no later than 21 September".
