US senator files to stop Huawei from taking patent action in the US - report

Tuesday 18 June 2019 | 09:44 CET | News
Republican Senator Marco Rubio has filed papers in court to stop certain companies on watch lists from seeking damages in US patent courts, Reuters reported, citing an amendment to the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a bill that sets spending policy by the Department of Defense. Under the amendment, companies on certain US government watch lists would not be allowed to bring legal action over patent infringement, or to in general seek relief under US law with respect to US patents.
