Verizon introduces unlimited prepaid plan with 5G

Verizon released its Prepaid Unlimited option with 5G access. The new plan starts at USD 75 per month, with the potential to lower those costs to USD 60 per month.

Customers who stay with Verizon can get savings of USD 5 per month with Auto Pay, USD 5 per month after three months of service and an additional USD 5 per month after nine months of service. Existing Verizon prepaid customers who switch to the new Unlimited plan (or other prepaid plan with loyalty discounts) are also eligible for monthly savings on Verizon Prepaid lines that have already been in service 3 to 9 months. 

Customers who sign-up for the USD 75 Verizon Unlimited prepaid plan get unlimited data on the 5G ultra wideband network in parts of 64 cities and 5G nationwide access in 2,700+ cities, covering over 230 million people. They can use unlimited mobile hotspot data when on a 5G Ultra Wideband connection and 10GB of hotspot data when on other parts of the network. The plan also comes with unlimited calls and texts, including to Canada and Mexico.

Verizon also offers several 5G-capable phones, but customers can also bring their own device and save USD 60 when they bring their number to Verizon Prepaid.

Verizon expands reach of 5G Home Internet service to 10 more cities

Verizon is bringing its 5G Home Internet service to ten more cities this month. From 18 March, the service will become available in parts of Cleveland (Ohio), Las Vegas (Nevada),Louisville (Kentucky), Omaha (Nebraska), and San Diego (California). It will then be introduced, on 25 March, to parts of Charlotte (North Carolina), Cincinnati (Ohio), Hartford (Connecticut), Kansas City (Missouri), and Salt Lake City (Utah).

Verizon outlines 5G expansion plans to boost revenue growth

Verizon has outlined its plans to expand 5G coverage using the spectrum it acquired in the recent C-band auction. At an analysts meeting, the company said the improved services will help it accelerate services revenue growth, to at least 2 percent this year, 3 percent in 2022 and 2023 and 4 percent or more in 2024. It's committed an extra USD 10 billion in capex over the next three years to support the roll-out, on top of the projected spending this year of USD 17.5-18.5 billion.

Verizon brings more 5G Ultra Wideband to more cities

Verizon said customers in parts of Sacramento, Seattle and Pensacola have access to 5G Ultra Wideband speeds and functionalities on top of its 5G Nationwide service. Verizon delivered the fastest median download speeds for its mobile services in the second half of 2020 across the US as a whole, according to preliminary data from the latest RootMetrics US State of the Mobile Union report.
