
Viettel wins mobile licence in Peru

Vietnamese military-run mobile operator Viettel has won Peru's fourth mobile operator licence, the investment agency ProInversion announced. The company plans to invest around USD 27 million in the new network and begin operations in the first half of this year, the Wall Street Journal reports. Viettel will be joining Claro, Movistar, and Nextel del Peru in the mobile market, with a licence in the 1900MHz band.
