Vodafone Germany 5G network reaches 45 mln people

Vodafone Germany said it has expanded its 5G network coverage to around 45 million people in cities and rural areas. Over half of the German population can use 5G from Vodafone at home, through 18,000 antennae in 6,000 locations.

With frequencies from the so-called high band (3.6 GHz), Vodafone brings extremely high bandwidth to places where many people are using smartphones, for example in city centres or concert halls. Vodafone uses mid-band frequencies (1.8 GHz) for the 5G expansion in residential and suburban areas. With low-band frequencies (700 MHz), which supply particularly large areas with coverage, Vodafone brings high-speed networks to rural areas.

The company also supports 5G standalone technology, available to customers with certain smartphones from Oppo and Samsung.
