Vodafone Italia has had fines amounting to EUR 1 million imposed on it by the country’s antitrust and competition watchdog AGCM for unfair commercial practices, following the reduction of the renewal period in certain consumer contracts from 30 to 28 days.
The watchdog found that the unilateral decision to change the renewal period negatively affected the right to withdraw from the contracts and had an adverse economic impact on the customers concerned, which included fixed, mobile and dual-play customers on specific contract options.
