
Xiaomi has unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the Mi MIX 2S. In addition, the company presented a laptop aimed at the gaming market and a mini version of its Mi AI Speaker.
The Mi Mix 2S is an update of the Mi Mix 2 launched last year, with the same 6-inch IPS Full HD+ screen stretching to an 18:9 display along the edges of the phone. It runs the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and comes with up to 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The dual 12-megapixel back cameras feature the latest Sony IMX363 flagship sensor and Dual Pixel technology for fast autofocus. In addition, Xiaomi added its own AI voice assistant to control the smartphone and smart home appliances and AI detection features to enhance photos.
Starting from CNY 3,299 (EUR 424), the Mi MIX 2S will be available in China from 3 April and launch in "selected global markets" at a later date. The phone is expected to lead Xiaomi's expansion to a growing number of countries, with support for 43 spectrum bands covering 226 regions.
The smartphone features a ceramic back with a four-sided curved design and aluminium frame and can be charged wirelessly using the accompanying CNY 99 charging pad. The Mi Mix 2S also is Xiaomi's first phone to support Google’s ARCore platform for augmented reality apps. The AR game 'The Machines' makes its exclusive Android debut on Xiaomi.
The company's new 15.6-inch laptop runs Intel's 7th generation Core processors, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, 16GB dual channel DDR4 RAM, and a 256GB SSD plus 1TB hard drive. Xiaomi said it's designed to deliver a powerful performance for both work and entertainment needs. Available in China starting 13 April the, Mi Gaming Laptop will retail from CNY 5,999, going up to CNY 8,999 for the version with Core i7 processor, GTX 1060 and 16GB.
The new mini speaker, a follow-up to the Mi AI Speaker launched last year, is priced at CNY 169 and will g on sale starting 3 April. It serves as a smart home assistant and a personal assistant, and allows users to easily to play music and listen to audiobooks with simple voice commands.
