Xiaomi unveils new flagship Mi 6 smartphone

Xiaomi has unveiled its new Mi 6 smartphone at an event in Beijing. The phone comes with a 5.15-inch display and curved glass or ceramic body and runs Qualcomm's latest top processor, the Snapdragon 835. 

It features a double 12 megapixel camera on the back, with wide angle and telephoto lenses for 2x lossless zoom, as well as a 3,350 mAh battery, fingerprint scanner on the front and 2x2 dual-band Wi-Fi. Xioami also said the screen offers 'eye care', by reducing glare and blue rays and a special night-time mode for easy reading in the dark. 

The Mi 6 will sell for CNY 2,499 for the model with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, CNY 2,899 for 6 GB and 128 GB, and CNY 2,999 for 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and an extra durable ceramic body with 18k-gold camera rims. It will be available in a choice of four colours.

Xiaomi is entering the smart speaker market with the launch of the Mi AI speaker. The small column features music control buttons on the top as well as a voice-activated assistant to control the device. Selling for CNY 299 from August, the speaker comes with an array of six microphones and optional add-ons and plug-ins available online.

Xiaomi aiming for 2017 sales of CNY 100 bln

Xiaomi launches Mi Note 2, Mi Mix concept smartphone

Xiaomi has unveiled its Mi Note 2 smartphone and the Mi Mix concept phones in Beijing. Xiaomi unveils Redmi Pro smartphone with dual rear camera

Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has introduced its 'Redmi Pro' budget smartphone. The Redmi Pro is the first Xiaomi phone to feature an OLED display. The device measures 5.5-inches, and features two rear cameras, a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor and a 5-megapixel Samsung sensor.
