Xiaomi unveils 3 devices, to enter 10 new countries
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has introduced three new products and unveiled further expansion plans. The company introduced the Mi Router with 802.11ac support and a 1 TB hard disk, which will be retailing for CNHY 699, and the Mi Router Mini in a variety of colours, priced at CNY 129. The third product is the Mi Box enhanced edition. The device supports 4K Ultra HD, is powered by a 4 GHz quad-core processor, comes with 2 GB of ram and 4 GB eMMC flash, and supports 802.11ac. The set-top box is priced at CNY 399. Xiaomi also unveiled it would enter ten new countries this year: Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, followed by Russia, Turkey, Brazil, and Mexico.

US video game start-up Ouya has signed a partnership agreement with smartphone producer Xiaomi to expand its games to the Chinese market. Xiaomi postpones plans to enter Brazilian market- report

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi's plans to enter the Brazilian market may take more time than initially expected, Baguete reports, citing Xiaomi's VP for global operations Hugo Barra. According to the executive, the certification process of Xiaomi's devices in Brazil is taking longer than expected. Barra said that Xiaomi may launch operations in Brazil within the next 12 months, but was not able to confirm a specific date. Xiaomi launches website in India

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched its website in India. However, the company did not yet provide detais about the launch of its smartphones in the local market. Earlier this month, the Chinese firm hired Manu Kumar Jain to launch its operations in the Indian market. Xiaomi had previously confirmed that it plans to sell smartphones in ten new countries during 2014. Some of these markets include India, Brazil and Russia as well as certain South East Asian countries.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi confirmed that it expects to launch its first 4G-enabled smatphone soon, Focus Taiwan reports. Company president Bin Lin declined to give a timetable for the launch. Touch panel makers see new orders from Xiaomi - report

Touch panel makers are seeing increased orders from Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi as the firm aims to ship 80 million handsets this year, Digitimes reports citing industry sources. Xiaomi had an initial shipment goal of 40 million units for 2014 but later increased the goal to 60 million. The sources said Xiaomi is now putting in increased orders to supply chains, with the aim of shipping 80 million handsets in 2014.
