Altice, KKR name French mobile towers venture Hivory

Altice Europe and private equity firm KKR announced that they have successfully completed the French tower business deal announced in June and have named the new venture Hivory. Under the deal, KKR owns a 49.99 percent stake in the company, which was valued at EUR 3.6 billion at the time of the agreement.

The two partners said that Hivory will position itself as a high-quality telecom infrastructure provider, proactively seeking cooperation opportunities with all French mobile network operators. The company has a portfolio of more than 10,000 tower sites nationwide. Altice's subsidiary SFR committed to a master agreement to use the sites for 20 years. 

In June, Altice said the venture would invest in 1,200 new sites to meet continued demand for mobile data and increased coverage needs.

SFR passes 111,000 new premises with fibre in November

SFR's fibre network passed an additional 111,000 new premises across 122 French municipalities during November, including hybrid fibre-coaxial and FTTP services. This marked the arrival of the operator's fibre offers for 78 of these municipalities, while coverage was extended in the other locations. Altice Europe announced that it's completed the sale of a 75 percent stake in its Towers of Portugal company to a consortium including Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners and Horizon Equity Partners. The company operates 2,961 sites developed by Portuguese mobile operator Meo.

Altice to sell stakes in French and Portuguese tower businesses for EUR 2.5 bln

Altice Europe has agreed to sell a 49.99 percent stake in its French tower business and a 75 percent stake in its Portuguese tower assets for a total cash consideration of EUR 2.5 billion. The deals, which have been in the making since the beginning of the year, deliver on the group's objective to reduce debt with the disposal of non-core operations.
