Apple considers bid for Hulu - report
Apple is considering making a bid for the Hulu online video service, two people with knowledge of the auction told Bloomberg. According to the report, Apple is in early talks that may lead to an offer for Hulu. Hulu's owners, Walt Disney Co, News Corp and NBC Universal, are offering suitors a five-year extension of programme rights, including two years of exclusive access, Bloomberg's sources said earlier. Both Hulu and Apple declined to comment. Apple's iTunes store offers TV series and films to rent or purchase. The takeover of Hulu would give it access to a streaming platform, as well as the subscription service Hulu Plus. The latter is already available on Apple mobile devices, as well as game consoles and Android devices. Other interested bidders for Hulu include Google, Yahoo and AT&T, while Microsoft dropped out of the bidding, according to Bloomberg's sources.
