Hulu race narrows to 3 bidders - report
The race to buy the US online TV site Hulu has narrowed to three bidders: Amazon, Yahoo and Dish Network, people familiar with the situation told the Financial Times. Satellite TV operator DirecTV was ruled out of the auction for submitting too low a bid, according to the report. Bids range from USD 1.5 billion to USD 2 billion. Hulu is being sold by its owners News Corp, Walt Disney, NBC Universal and Providence Equity Partners.

Hulu reaches over 1 mln paying subscribers

US online TV service Hulu has reached over 1 million paying subscribers, CEO Jason Kilar said at an investor conference. Dish to launch Blockbuster subscription VoD service - report

US satellite-TV provider Dish Network will introduce a Blockbuster streaming-movie service to compete with Netflix next month, a person with direct knowledge of the plans told Bloomberg. South Korean communications firm SK Telecom denies it plans to bid for US online TV service Hulu. "SK Telecom is not considering taking part in the takeover of U.S. video service firm Hulu and has no intention to take part in the acquisition," news agency Yonhap quotes the company as saying in a statement.
