Apple Music to get app talent show with celebrity judges
Apple is making a TV show called 'Planet of the Apps' that will see celebrities judge new mobile apps. The show will launch on Apple Music in the next few months, said Ben Silverman at the Code Media conference in California. He’s the CEO of Propagate, the production company that’s partnering with Apple to create the show. He discussed the programme at the conference with Eddy Cue, Apple's software and services SVP.

The apps are judged by a panel including Jessica Alba, Will.i.am and Gwyneth Paltrow, among others. A related app will allow viewers at home to give their opinions on the new apps featured, and the venture capital firm Lightspeed Ventures is working with the show to invest in the winning apps. In addition, the winners will be promoted on Apple's App Store.
