The BBC is considering establishing a new EU base in Brussels after Brexit so it can continue broadcasting across Europe, reports The Guardian.
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel confirmed that he has held talks with BBC Director General Tony Hall about the possibility. The BBC is also understood to be looking at Ireland and the Netherlands as potential locations for the new EU base.
The corporation will require EU-based licences for its international channels if they are to continue broadcasting across the EU after Brexit if the UK leaves without a deal, or after a transition period if the Prime Minister's withdrawal agreement is approved by Parliament.
