Bouygues undercuts triple-play rivals by a third

French operator Bouygues Telecom will cut the price of its triple-play service to EUR 19.99 a month on 3 March, slashing a third off the market's standard price of EUR 30, and giving subscribers the option to cancel at any time, unlike the offers of its competitors. The new plan will be available in French cities with over 100,000 inhabitants where Bouygues has unbundled the local loop, amounting to some 12 million homes. There is no equipment rental cost either.

The ADSL service includes 20 GB of cloud storage, up to 165 TV channels, a 40 GB PVR, VoD and catch-up TV. It also offers unlimited calls to fixed numbers in mainland France and 121 international destinations. Bouygues offers phone-based assistance from 08:00 to 22:00, 7 days a week and will send out a technician to install the modem and PVR free of charge, if necessary.

Customers can pay another EUR 6 per month to gain what are called the "Sensation advantages", unlimited calls to mobile numbers in France and her overseas territories, 50 GB of storage, and premium TV (up to 170 channels, including 27 in HD, 300 GB PVR, games and multi-screen access with the B.tv tablet and smartphone app), a Sensation PVR and joy stick with their first game subscription.
