Following reports that chipmaker Dialog Semiconductor was in talks to acquire US touchpad technology maker Synaptics, Dialog has confirmed that it's starting due diligence proceedings. The company said buying Synaptics would accelerate its growth in IoT and enhance its position in the mobile market.
Dialog added that the process is still ongoing and may not necessarily lead to a transaction. If a deal should come to pass, it will be paid for in cash, mainly from Dialog’s balance sheet, plus debt.
