Finnish operators said more and more of the smartphones they sell support 5G services. Telia Finland said 5G phones made up 60 percent of handset sales in August and DNA said the rate was 70 percent, while Elisa put its rate at close to 70 percent.
In August, the OnePlus Nord N100 came top of Telia's list of best-selling smartphones among private customers, and the same model rose to second in Elisa's private customer rankings from fourth in July. At DNA, which publishes only one list, the OnePlus Nord N100 rose to third place in August from twelfth in July.
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G phone entered Elisa's August personal customer list in sixth position and joined its business customer list in eighth place. The Nord 2 5G made its debut with DNA at the bottom of the operator's top ten for August, and joined Telia Finland's consumer rankings in fifth place.
The Xiaomi Redmi 9C improved its ranking at DNA to fourth in August from seventh in July, and rounded off Telia Finland's consumer top ten, after not appearing the month before.
Samsung’s Galaxy A52 5G phone climbed to the top of DNA's rankings for August from fourth in July and made exactly the same progress on Telia Finland's business smartphone list. On Telia's consumer list, it held on to seventh place.
The best-selling smartphone on Elisa's private customer sales chart in August was the OnePlus Nord N10 5G phone, which also improved its rankings at DNA to sixth from tenth in July.
Elisa said the Apple iPhone 12 5G remained the most popular phone among its corporate clients in August, but it slipped to fourth position on its consumer list from third in July. The iPhone 12 5G was still second on Telia's retail customer list and edged up to eighth from tenth on Telia's corporate list. At DNA, it dipped to second from first.
