Greek govt to sell 5% stake in OTE
Greece’s privatisation agency HRADF started an international tender to sell a 5.0 percent stake in OTE, corresponding to 24.5 million shares. The tender process will be conducted in one phase and interested investors are requested to submit their binding offers in accordance with the tender's request for proposal by 15 March. 

Deutsche Telekom holds 40 percent of OTE's share capital, the Greek state holds 5 percent, and the HRADF owns 5 percent, while smaller percentages are held by foreign and local institutional and private investors.

Deutsche Telekom has exercised its right to acquire another 5 percent stake in Greek operator OTE. The Greek state property fund HRADF announced that Telekom will pay EUR 284 million for the additional shares, after no other buyer came forward.

HRADF started an international tender in February to sell a 5.0 percent stake in OTE, corresponding to 24.5 million shares.

Greek operator OTE reported higher results in its home market in Q4 and said it expects the positive trend to continue in 2018 as the economy recovers. The company said it will reduce capex this year in order to support an increase in shareholder returns.

Telekom Romania's fixed sales down, mobile turnover up in Q4

Telekom Romania's fixed unit registered a decrease of 3.9 percent in revenues in Q4 2017, but its mobile sales recorded 14.4 percent growth. EBITDA decreased in both segments, by 7.8 percent to EUR 26.1 million on the fixed segment and by 16.9 percent to EUR 14.7 million on the mobile segment.

OTE approves share buyback

Greek operator OTE announced the approval by shareholders at an extraordinary meeting of a share buyback programme of up to 10 percent of the company's total paid-up share capital. This would involve a total up to 49 million shares at a price range between EUR 1 and EUR 30 per share, for a maximum of EUR 90 million this year.

Greece raises EUR 201 mln in 1,800 MHz auction

Greek telecommunications authority EETT secured EUR 201.450 million through the allocation of frequencies in the 1,800 MHz band. Cosmote bought the largest share of spectrum for EUR 83.150 million, while Vodafone Greece and Wind Hellas paid EUR 59.2 million and EUR 59.1 million respectively for their licences.

OTE to buy back 34,000 own shares

OTE announced its intention to buyback 34,000 own shares at a maximum purchase price of EUR 15 per share and a minimum purchase price of EUR 2 per share. OTE ups dividend, plans higher capex in 2017

Greek operator OTE proposed a strong increase in its annual dividend, after reporting stabilising results for 2016. The company controlled by Deutsche Telekom will pay EUR 0.16 per share, up from EUR 0.10 in 2015. This follows annual revenues up 0.1 percent to EUR 3.908 billion, and net profit down 7.8 percent to EUR 140 million.
