HMD launches Nokia 6 Android smartphone in China

HMD Global has introduced its Nokia 6 smartphone in China. HDM secured the exclusive Nokia brand licensing rights in mobile phones in late 2016. Nokia 6 is HMD’s first Android smartphone. Nokia 6 will debut exclusively through JD.com in early 2017 in China for a price of CNY 1,699.

The Nokia 6 features a hybrid in-cell 5.5-inch screen with full HD resolution and 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The smartphone also includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with X6 LTE modem. The Nokia 6 has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with which to run the latest version of Android Nougat. The Nokia 6 also features a 16-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera.

Microsoft has completed the sale of the former Nokia feature phone business to FIH Mobile and HMD Global, the new company set up to develop Nokia-branded mobile phones.
