
HTC quarterly revenues fall 28.5%

HTC announced a net profit of TWD 0.31 billion for the fourth quarter, down from TWD 1.0 billion a year earlier. Revenues fell to TWD 42.89 billion, from TWD 60.01 billion in Q4 2012, and the operating result was a loss of TWD 1.56 billion, versus a profit of TWD 600 million a year ago. Revenues and net profit were in line with the company's earlier forecast. In December alone, revenues at the smartphone maker fell 42.4 percent year-on-year to TWD 12.43 billion. HTC will release detailed results and an outlook for the coming period at a later date.
