Huawei introduces P50 Pocket foldable flip phone

Huawei has unveiled its new P50 Pocket smartphone. The flip phone comes with a 6.9-inch foldable Oled screen when open and a 1-inch round screen on the outside cover. For the moment, only a release in China is planned.

The inner display comes with a FHD+-resolution of 2790x1188 and 120 Hz refresh rate. The circular outside screen offers 340x340 resolution and is designed mainly for text notifications.

The device runs a Snapdragon 888 SoC with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. A premium edition increases this to 12/512 GB and comes with a more high-end back finish. The same as the rest of the P50 series, the device does not support 5G.

The P50 Pocket features a triple rear camera, with a main 40-megapixel sensor and f/1.8 aperture, as well as a 13-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens and 'hyperspectral' camera with 32 megapixels for advanced image processing under a technique Huawei calls XD Fusion Pro. On the front is a 10.7-megapixel selfie camera.

The phone is priced at CNY 8,988, or CNY 10,988 for the premium version.
