Iliad Italia to use FiberCop network for fixed services launch

Iliad has struck another agreement to support the launch of fixed services in Italy. After partnering with Open Fiber last year, Iliad has now agreed to use the FiberCop network also to serve the FTTH market.

This is TIM's third deal for wholesale access to the FiberCop network, after Fastweb and Tiscali. TIM will also offer Iliad access to the primary fibre network.

No financial details of the agreement were disclosed. TIM said the deal shows the co-investment model to expand fibre access is working. FiberCop is controlled by TIM (58%) together with KKR Infrastructure (37.5%) and Fastweb (4.5%) and operates a passive network and access services. The operator targets FTTH coverage for 75 percent of grey and black areas of the country by 2025.
