KPN replaces CCO with new consumer chief Van Overbeke

KPN's new CEO Maximo Ibarra is changing the Dutch operator's management structure, adding an executive committee in addition to the management board. As part of the changes, chief commercial officer Frank van der Post is leaving the company and will be replaced with a new chief consumer officer, Jean-Pascal Van Overbeke, and a chief business officer. 

Van der Post joined the company in March 2015 is leaving from 15 September, a few months before his term was set to expire in early 2019. Chairman Duco Sickinghe thanked him for his service, saying he helped deliver solid results at the consumer division and shaped the transformation started in the business segment, while also contributing to the improvement in customer satisfaction in recent years. After his departure, KPN's management board will consist of three members: CEO Maximo Ibarra, CFO Jan Kees de Jager and COO Joost Farwerck. 

Jean-Pascal Van Overbeke has been appointed Chief Consumer Market, effective 1 September. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of KPN’s Consumer activities and report to Ibarra. Alongside his role as CEO, Ibarra will temporarily assume the position of Chief Business Market.

Van Overbeke comes from French operator SFR, where he headed the consumer activities until late last year. Before that he was deputy group CEO of Lebara, COO at Malaysia's Maxis Communications and CMO and CCO at Orange UK. In his earlier career, he held several executive roles at Belgian operator Mobistar.

Other members of the new executive committee, in addition to the board directors and Van Overbeke, are Chief People Officer Erik van ’t Hof, Chief Strategy Officer Wouter Stammeijer, Chief Transformation Officer Paolo Nanni, General Counsel and Company Secretary Jasper Spanbroek and Chief Corporate Communication and CSR Hans Koeleman.

The changes to KPN’s management structure are subject to works council advice.
