Line files for IPO in Tokyo

Mobile messaging app Line has filed for an initial public offering in Tokyo. Line's parent company, South Korean internet group Naver confirmed that it had made the filing after numerous media reports. Line could also be listed in the US, Naver said, noting that nothing was definite yet. It said further details of the listing would be announced closer to the offering. The IPO could value Tokyo-based Line, which reported over 400 million users in April, at more than JPY 1 trillion (USD 9.8 billion), sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.
