Orange launches Sanza Touch smartphone in Africa

Orange has announced the launched of the Sanza Touch to Africa. The smartphone aims to improve mobile internet access and is supported by Google, building upon efforts since the launch of Android Go edition in 2018. The device will retail at around USD 30, which is intended to make it the most accessible on the market. 

The Sanza Touch is available with Payjoy instalment payments, depending on availability in different countries. The 4G phone has a 4-inch screen, 8GB memory and a 1750mAh battery offering over four hours' life when streaming videos.

Customers can use the Orange app collection (My Orange, Orange Money and Livescreen for news) and access popular apps including YouTube Go, Google Go, Facebook and WhatsApp. The phone will be available from October with a bundled mobile data plan (voice, SMS, data). It will be sold in most countries in the Middle East and Africa, starting with Guinea Bissau, Cote d'Ivoire and Madagascar.

Orange Jordan expands 4G smartphone range including Infinix models

Orange Jordan says it has added Infinix smartphones to its shop range as well as the new Sanza XL mobile from Orange, a 4G phone with a large screen and big memory at a competitive price. Orange Jordan offers customers a prepaid line (Orange 8, YO8 or YO10) for one month for free and up to 120 GB of internet with the purchase of an Infinix or Sanza mobile.

Orange announced that it will start selling the 4G version of the Sanza feature phone from December. Priced around USD 28, the new Sanza XL model will first arrive in six markets across Africa and in Jordan, expanding to more countries from 2020. The launch is a collaboration with Itel Mobile, part of China-based handset maker Transsion Holdings.

Orange announced the forthcoming launch of the Sanza smart feature phone, which will be sold from April for approximately USD 20 across sixteen countries in Africa and the Middle East, bundled with a mobile plan including a voice/text/data allowance. Sanza is the first device developed by the operator following its recent partnership with KaiOS Technologies, developer of an operating system for smart feature phones.
