Orange OCS expands into OTT direct distribution

Orange’s premium content service OCS has become available directly online via its own dedicated website, in addition to the existing Orange channels and its current distribution partners (Canal Plus, Bouygues Telecom, Free, SFR, Fransat and Playstation). Customers are offered two subscription options, both available without minimum contract.

The first option, priced EUR 9.99/month, is designed for the computer, tablet and smartphone screens and is currently discounted at EUR 7.99/month for the first six months. The second option, priced EUR 11.99/month, is compatible with Google Cast and will soon support similar technologies to enable TV viewing, including Xbox One, Android TV, Apple TV and Airplay. Both options are currently promoted with a one-month free trial.

OCS, which counts 2.5 million subscribers, offers four thematic channels and the OCS Go replay service.

Orange renews content deal with HBO in France

French pay-TV company OCS, majority owned by Orange, has signed a multi-year agreement with US pay-TV network HBO that extends and expands the existing content partnership between Orange and HBO. As part of the new deal, OCS will in time become the exclusive broadcaster of HBO programmes in France, and the company's 2.6 million subscribers will soon have unlimited access to HBO's full catalogue within a dedicated SVoD area.

Orange unveils fibre bundles featuring Canal+ TV channels

Orange announced the launch of a new range of fibre packages, which in addition to the existing services include access to 46 Canal Plus TV channels, bundled under the name of 'Famille by Canal'. Orange unveils OCS VR app, partners with Wevr on VR platform

Orange has announced the forthcoming launch of a Virtual Reality application, OCS VR, which enables OCS premium content subscribers to access the entire catalogue via selected VR hardware. Orange France's new Livebox to be available 19 May

Orange France's new Livebox will become available on 19 May. Previewed at the Hello Show on 16 March, the new Livebox combines Wi-Fi n (2.4 GHz) and Wi-Fi ac (5 GHz) technologies to deliver up to 1.9 Gbps connectivity to meet the expectations of customers who now have an average of over seven screens connected at a time in the home.
