Samsung passes 100 mln Galaxy S phones sold
Samsung Electronics announced that global channel sales of the company's flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S III, and its two predecessors the Galaxy S and Galaxy S II, have surpassed 100 million unit sales as of 13 January. The Galaxy S, first launched in June 2010, has reached over 24 million units shipped, the Galaxy S II released in April 2011 has sold over 40 million units, and the Galaxy S III, launched in May 2012, also has shipped over 40 million units.

Samsung to unveil Galaxy S IV on 14 March in New York

Samsung Electronics will launch its new Galaxy S IV smartphone on 14 March in New York. It will be the first US launch of a flagship Galaxy smartphone in three years, company spokeswoman Chenny Kim told Reuters. Samsung's Q4 profits jump 76%, warns for smartphone slowdown

Samsung Electronics saw its fourth-quarter profit jump 76 percent to KRW 7.04 trillion from KRW 4.01 trillion a year earlier. Sales rose 19 percent to KRW 56.06 trillion. Samsung Electronics announced that it has sold over 5 million units of its Galaxy Note II smartphone.
