Samsung passes 20 mln Galaxy S III sold
Samsung Electronics announced that its flagship Galaxy S III smartphone has already passed sales of 20 million units, in just 100 days since its launch. Launched in late May, the phone passed 10 million units within 50 days and continued to sell at an average 200,000 per day. The Galaxy S III has sold 6 million units in Europe, 4.5 million in Asia, 4 million in North America and 2.5 million in its home market South Korea. The company also announced the phone will be available in the new colours brown, red, grey and black.

Samsung Galaxy Note II global sales hit 3 million mark

Samsung announced that global sales for the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone have hit the 3 million units mark, a little over a month after its launch. The smartphone is selling some three times faster than its predecessor, Samsung said. Sales were helped by the launch of the device with five US carriers. Apple extends Samsung sales ban request to Galaxy S III

Apple has extended its request for a ban on Samsung phones in the US to include the Korean company's flagship Galaxy S III smartphone. Apple on 31 August amended a complaint, filed originally in Feburary, to include four more products to a list of Samsung products that Apple says infringes on its patents. Samsung Electronics saw its second-quarter net profit grow 48 percent year-on-year to KRW 5.19 trillion. Samsung expects strong sales of the Galaxy S III to help its mobile phone profits surpass the record result reported in the first quarter.
