Samsung sells 30 mln Galaxy S III
Samsung Electronics announced that it has sold over 30 million units of its flagship Galaxy S III smartphone worldwide, five months since its debut in May. The series continues to break records, with the predecessor Galaxy S II selling just 10 million units in the same period. Samsung has been adding new colours for the S III and said it's also starting the upgrade of the device to Android 4.1.

Samsung Electronics announced that global channel sales of the company's flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S III, and its two predecessors the Galaxy S and Galaxy S II, have surpassed 100 million unit sales as of 13 January. The smartphone runs Android 4.1.2 and comes with a refreshed user interface, 4.1-inch Super Amoled Plus display, 1.2 GHz processor and 8 megapixel camera. Samsung said it includes new features making it easier to use, such as Direct Call to automatically dial when the device is lifted to the ear, Smart Stay to dim the screen when not in use and Smart Alert to deliver missed events or status updates when the phone is picked up. Samsung Galaxy Note II global sales hit 3 million mark

Samsung announced that global sales for the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone have hit the 3 million units mark, a little over a month after its launch. The smartphone is selling some three times faster than its predecessor, Samsung said. Sales were helped by the launch of the device with five US carriers. The Android phone features a 5.5-inch screen and stylus pen to write and draw on the screen.

Samsung nearly doubles Q3 profit on strong mobile sales

Samsung Electronics reported a near doubling in third-quarter profits thanks to continued strong growth at its handset division. Samsung unveils mini version of Galaxy S3

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its Galaxy S3 mini smartphone, a compact version of the Galaxy S3 device. The 4-inch smartphone is powered by Android Jelly Bean OS, and features a 4.0-inch Super AMOLED display, dual-core processor and S Voice language recognition software.
