Samsung unveils latest Exynos processor with gigabit LTE
Samsung Electronics announced its first processor to support gigabit LTE. The Exynos 9 Series 8895 supports five-carrier aggregation in order to drive LTE speeds to 1 Gbps on the downlink and 150 Mbps on the uplink.

This is also Samsung’s first processor chipset to take advantage of 10-nanometer FinFET process technology with improved 3D transistor structure, which Samsung says allows up to 27 percent higher performance while consuming 40 percent less power compared to 14nm production.

The Exynos 8895 is an octa-core processor, comprising four of Samsung’s second-generation CPU cores and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores. ARM’s latest Mali-G71 GPU supports new graphic experiences such as 4K video and VR gaming, including video recording and playback at up to 120fps.

The Exynos 9 Series 8895 is currently in mass production and is expected to feature in Samsung's next flagship smartphone.
