SingTel receives 2 final bids for Optus Satellite - report
Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has received two final offers for Optus Satellite, its Australian satellite business. Intelsat is one of the bidders and the other offer was lodged by a consortium that includes Blackstone Group, TPG Capital, and Measat Global, Reuters reports citing sources close to the matter. Both offers were below AUD 2 billion, the reserve price, and the SingTel board will shortly decide whether to ask bidders to improve their bids or whether to divest the division through an IPO.

Optus posted a net profit for the quarter ended 30 June of AUD 167 million, up 8 percent from AUD 155 million in the year-ago quarter. SES bids for Optus Satellite - report

Satellite operator SES and investment companies KKR and Carlyle have made an offer to buy Optus Satellite, SingTel's Australian satellite division, three people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.
