Tele2 Sweden offers unlimited data with European surfing

Tele2 Sweden said it is bringing out an unlimited mobile internet subscription, as well as providing EU and EEA roaming at no extra cost to every new retail subscription. Existing customers will get the European roaming facility from 15 June. 

The new subscription goes by the English name 'Unlimited' and costs SEK 499 per month. It includes unlimited calls, SMS and data in Sweden, while the unlimited data is subject to a cap of 12 GB a month when roaming in the EEA. Lower plans with 1 or 5 GB a month allow the full allowance to be used in the EU, while from 15 GB, customers face a cap on data roaming usage. 

The operator said it is launching the 'Power 2' concept, again using English. It said that the world is constantly changing and that everyone needs the curiosity to learn the opportunities provided by connectivity. It is launching 'Tele2 School of Power' as its new marketing tagline to underline its role in enabling a more connected life, it said.

Telia Denmark is introducing a new mobile subscription under the name Telia One, providing unlimited data across Telia's footprint in the Nordic and Baltic regions, as well as 20 GB of data for roaming in the EU each month. This service costs DKK 249 per month (EUR 33), and includes unlimited calls, texts and MMS in the Nordic and Baltic regions and in the EU.

Tele2 Sweden offers Unlimited Together group subscription discount

Tele2 Sweden said it is bringing out a new service under the English title "Unlimited Together", enabling friends, family members and co-workers to band together to cut down on their mobile communications bills. In spring 2017, Tele2 brought out the Unlimited subscription, providing uncapped mobile surfing, texts and voice calls for SEK 499 per month. Unlimited Together provides a group discount on the service, regardless of whether the members are in a traditional family or form some other kind of group.

Tele2 Sweden cuts off small number of users abusing Unlimited subscriptions

Tele2 Sweden said is withdrawing Unlimited general mobile subscriptions from a small number of customers whose usage was considerably higher than average. In a thread on its Twitter feed, it said only about 0.15 percent of its Unlimited subscribers fell into this category, which it considered to be abuse of the service and therefore in breach of its terms. It denied an article in Aftonbladet that put average use at 8 GB per month.

Tele2 Power Nap app reads out web content to sleeping Swedes

Tele2 Sweden said it has launched an application called 'Power Nap', which it says makes it possible to surf the internet while asleep. It said that following the launch of Tele2's 'Unlimited' mobile subscription, the app optimises data use by enabling customers to scroll through forums, read articles or scan housing advertisements as they snooze. Power Nap uses software on websites bookmarked by the user and reads out their content in what Tele2 calls a pleasant voice.

Tele2 Sweden says European surfing rises fivefold in June

Tele2 Sweden said the volume of mobile internet traffic used abroad had expanded fivefold in June compared with the same month last year. New European roam-like-at-home (RLAH) regulations entered force on 15 June this year. Spain remains the favourite web roaming country, accounting for 25 percent of EU/EAA mobile data used, Tele2 said.

Comviq lets customers use up to 8 GB for European roaming

Tele2 Sweden's budget arm, Comviq, has set out its schedule of European data roaming allowances following the introduction of new regulations on 15 June. With the following subscriptions, all the normal mobile internet allowance can also be used in the EU and EEA: Fastpris 145 which includes 1 GB, Fastpris 195 with 3 GB, Fastpris 245 and Fastpris Poland each providing 7 GB, Student/Senior 145 (3 GB), and Student/Senior 195 (7 GB).

Comviq hires out student hang-out caravan during May

Tele2 Sweden's budget arm, Comviq, said it is offering students caravan hire at SEK 95 per day during May. It is fitted with free Wi-Fi, a 43-inch screen HD television set, and supplied with refreshments for four people. The aim is to provide space for students in cities such as Uppsala, Stockholm and Lund to revise or simply hang out at this stressful time. Net4Mobility grid covers 90% of Sweden, 99.9% of population

Tele2 said its joint Swedish 2G/4G network with Telenor now covers 90 percent of Sweden's territory and 99.9 percent of the population, with improved call quality and more stable internet service for customers nationwide.
