The UK government is testing a new Gigabit Voucher Scheme in four areas to help SMBs upgrade their business broadband to a gigabit-capable connection. These areas are Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire; Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset; Coventry and Warwickshire; and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
The GBP 2 million scheme will provide vouchers up to GBP 3,000 to support the capital costs of getting gigabit broadband connections. In the Bristol, Bath and NE Somerset areas, vouchers worth up to GBP 500 will also be available to connect homes. The test is part of the GBP 200 million Local Full Fibre Networks programme.
Wholesale connectivity provider Entanet has announced its support for the new Gigabit business connectivity voucher scheme. With immediate effect, Entanet channel partners can take advantage of the scheme, with Entanet providing full management of the process and funding process support for partners.
