VodafoneZiggo has discontinued talks on potential wholesale customers accessing its cable network, market sources told Tweakers. According to the report, the company ended the negotiations soon after receiving the court ruling overturning the wholesale cable regulation.
The reference offer first published in early 2019 has disappeared from the company's site, with a 404 for the web page vodafoneziggo.nl/wholesale. As many as 18 companies are thought to have expressed interest in using the cable network, but no official agreements were ever announced.
The corporate appeals court overturned the wholesale broadband regulation following an appeal by VodafoneZiggo and KPN. It found the ACM had not succeeded in proving joint dominance by the two operators, making the regulation unjustified.
