3 Austria withdraws LTE auction complaint
Hutchison Whampoa unit 3 Austria withdrew at the end of June its complaint with the Administrative Court (VwGH) against last year's LTE auction licence, Der Standard reported. CEO Jan Trionow told news agency APA that the company still considers the auction to have broken the law in terms of its form and content, but the framework conditions have now changed. Der Standard said the autumn 2013 4G auction yielded approximately EUR 2 billion for the government but it has now been established that about half of that will return to the sector in the form of broadband support between 2016 and 2020. T-Mobile Austria's complaint still stands, and a decision is expected after the summer.

3 Austria announces price rises from 20 October

3 Austria has announced increases in many of its tariffs from 20 October, and said it will write to customers individually to notify them of the changes. It added that customers have the write to cancel their contracts at no charge. Austrian newspaper Der Standard said on its website that the Hutchison Whampoa unit attributed the price increases to its investment in its network.

3 Austria reports revenues of EUR 342 million for the first six months of this year, decreasing 7 percent year-on-year. Austria Constitutional Court rejects spectrum auction appeal

T-Mobile Austria confirmed that the Constitutional Court has rejected complaints filed by the company and rival 3 Austria against the results of the mobile spectrum auction in autumn 2013. The court ruled that the auction possibly violated ordinary laws, but did not violate constitutional law.
