
Infrastructure minister Alois Stoeger was pleased with the ruling, which paves the way for the government to devote EUR 1 billion from the proceeds to investment in broadband expansion. The Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT) will next discuss practical measures with stakeholders. The aim is to release the tender in the spring of next year. The BMVIT will allocate funding of EUR 300 million in 2015. The objective is to supply all citizens with ultra fast internet of 100 Mbps by 2020.
