
Dtac and AIS earlier announced that they would not participate in the 900 MHz spectrum auction, while True Move said it will not bid for either the 1800 or the 900 MHz spectrum license, claiming that the bandwidth in is operating on is sufficient to meet subscriber base growth.
The reserve price for each of the four slots has been set at THB 12.48 billion. AIS and Dtac each placed bids of THB 2.5 billion to guarantee their bids for four slots in the 1890 MHz spectrum. At least two licenses in the 1800 MHz spectrum bill be sold in the 19 August auction. The NBTC plans to auction 9 slots in the 1800 MHz spectrum that contains 10 MHz of bandwidth for upload and download.
The license winner will have to pay 50 percent of the winning price withing 90 days from the auction, 25 percent in 209, and the remaining 25 percent in 2020.
