America Movil not interested in Yoigo acquisition

America Movil is not currently interested in acquiring TeliaSonera's Spanish unit Yoigo, Reuters reports, citing America Movil CEO Daniel Hajj. "Not for the moment. We are focused on Austria and the Netherlands," Hajj said, referring to the Mexican company's recent acquisitions of large stakes in Telekom Austria and Dutch peer KPN. Back in July, Reuters reported that TeliaSonera was selling Spanish mobile operator Yoigo, according to four people familiar with the matter.

Additionally, when asked whether America Movil would support the sale of KPN's Belgian unit Base, Hajj said it was still too early to make a decision on the matter. "We are in the process of getting to know the company," he said. KPN recently said it had completed the review of its Belgian and German mobile businesses and this month started the process to sell Belgium mobile operator Base.

France Telecom CEO Stephane Richard has rejected speculation of a merger with Deutsche Telekom. Yoigo net sales climb 3.8% in Q2

Spanish mobile operator Yoigo's second-quarter net sales in local currency increased by 3.8 percent year-on-year to the equivalent of SEK 1.933 billion, from SEK 1.882 billion in the second quarter of 2011. TeliaSonera's Spanish unit Yoigo up for sale – report

Teliasonera is selling its Spanish mobile operator Yoigo, Reuters reports, citing four people familiar with the matter. The sale price has been set at around EUR 1 billion. The deal is expected to attract Carlos Slim, Vodafone and France Telecom as bidders. According to the same source, Teliasonera has hired Deutsche Bank to manage the disposal of its 76 percent stake in Yoigo, as it exits non-core markets in favor of its Scandinavian heartland and higher-growth central Asia.
