Apple grows quarterly iPhone sales 58%

Apple reported a 58 percent increase in iPhone shipments in its fiscal fourth quarter to 29 September, selling 26.9 million of the smartphones. iPad sales rose by 26 percent to 14.0 million units, and Mac sales were up 1 percent to 4.9 million, while iPod sales fell 19 percent to 5.3 million. Strong sales of the new iPhone helped the company grow quarterly revenues to USD 36.0 billion from USD 28.3 billion in the year-earlier period, better than its earlier forecast of USD 34.0 billion.
