
Argentina’s telecoms ministry SeCom has announced the award of spectrum in the 700 MHz band auctioned at the end of last year. Movistar (Telefonica) was awarded blocs in the 703-713 MHz and 758-768 MHz range, Personal (Telecom Argentina) secured blocs in the 713-723 MHz and 768-778 MHz range, while Claro (America Movil) received frequencies in the 723-738 MHz and 778-793 MHz bands.
In addition, the ministry announced that Argentine operator Arlink had been assigned frequencies in both the 700 MHz and AWS (1.7-2.1 GHz) bands to provide 3G and 4G services throughout the country. The government received a total of USD 2.23 billion in the auction for 10 blocs held last November.
