Cambium Networks launches 60 GHz cnWave platform for multi-gigabit broadband

Cambium Networks has launched its new platform for delivering multi-gigabit broadband services in the 60 GHz band. The 60 GHz cnWave solution uses Facebook Connectivity's Terragraph technology and Qualcomm Technologies' latest 802.11ay-compliant platform to deliver the fibre-like speeds. 

This marks the first Cambium platform aimed at urban deployments of multi-gigabit broadband. The 60 GHz design architecture is built on the 802.11ay standard for higher capacity and better channel access and mesh support. Coupled with intelligent management software, the new Cambium product enables a very low total cost of ownership that delivers connectivity at a fraction of the cost of trenching fibre, according to the company. 

It is also positioned as a complement to cable networks struggling to deliver the symmetrical performance to compete with fibre, as 60 GHz cnWave delivers symmetrical multi-gigabit performance (up and down). The compact size means it can be mounted on street furniture and is capable of operating in point-to-point, in point-to-multipoint or in efficient mesh modes, for last mile access to subscriber homes, enterprises, multi-dwelling buildings, CCTV networks, public Wi-Fi networks or potentially as backhaul for small cell 4G or 5G network traffic.

60 ghz oxygen absorption and you wan to put this in the public ??? NO HEALTH EVALUATION just stop it immdiately !

The 60 GHz spectrum is specifically used because this radiation is absorbed by the oxygen molecule, meaning signals will not travel far in air. Thus frequencies can then be reused nearby. However, there has been NO health evaluation in radiating living organisms with such oxygen-targeting frequencies. These wireless cells must be small, so people are going to be radiated at very close distances. These 60 GHz operations must be halted until there has been a proper evaluation of the health risks.
