CITC gives MVNO licences to Virgin Mobile, Jawraa Lebara

Saudi Arabian regulator CITC (Communications and Information Technology Commission) has awarded MVNO licenses to two new companies, namely Virgin Mobile Saudi Arabia and Jawraa Lebara, bringing the number of MVNOs in the Kingdom to five, the Saudi Gazette reported. Virgin Mobile Saudi Arabia has teamed up with STC while London-based Jawaraa Lebara will offer the service together with its operator Mobily. The licences have been granted for a period of 10 years. Companies must start offering commercial services within one year. Virgin and Lebara are expected to launch services by the end of June. The regulator will announce the winner of the third MVNO license, set to tie up with Zain Saudi, after completing the licensing procedures.
