
Deutsche Telekom said it plans to cover 90 percent of the German population with 5G this year. The operator will soon achieve the milestone of covering 80 percent. At the end of March, over 66 million people in Germany will be able to use Deutsche Telekom's 5G network in 5,000 cities and communities.
Deutsche Telekom has installed over 50,000 antennas to provide 5G across German, using 2.1 GHz and 3.6 GHz spectrum. The operator is now offering 5G on this band in over 30 cities. It has also upgraded over 2,500 LTE antennas for customers speeds of up to 300 Mbps.
Deutsche Telekom currently operates a 600,000 km long network in Germany. It wants to provide FTTH to all German households by 2030, in partnership with other companies. The operator plans to expand the fibre network to over 600 municipalities by 2024.
