Drahi steps down as Altice president, Combes becomes CEO
Altice announced a management reshuffle, in which major shareholder Patrick Drahi will step down as president of the group. CEO Dexter Goei will take over as president, and Michel Combes will become the new CEO of the group. 

Goei will also head up the US activities as Altice USA CEO, focusing on the integration of the acquired cable operators Suddenlink and Cabelevision. In addition, he remains head of Altice's global M&A activities. 

Combes, who first joined the company last year as COO, will manage Altice's day-to-day operations and all country CEOs and managers will report to him. He will lead Altice's executive committee and join the board as a director. 

Drahi will continue to set out the strategic, operational and technological agenda for the group and lead the newly formed Altice Group Advisory Council.

Altice mulling IPO of US cable unit - report

Altice is considering the possibility of expanding its Altice USA cable unit via an initial public offering (IPO), according to unnamed sources cited by Reuters. Altice maintains outlook as revenue slide continues

Altice reported a continued slide in revenues in the second quarter, driven by weakness at SFR in France. Total revenues fell 2.6 percent year-on-year to EUR 5.828 billion, while French revenues dropped 4.3 percent to EUR 2.781 billion amid continued subscriber losses at SFR. Altice unveils new intl content team, led by CEO Alain Weill

Altice has announced its international media and content team, led by Alain Weill as CEO and Damien Bernet as deputy CEO. Altice completes takeover of Cablevision

Altice said it has completed its takeover US cable operator Cablevision. The company will be merged with Suddenlink, acquired by Altice at the end of last year, to form the fourth-largest cable group in the US, active in 20 states. Altice agreed in September 2015 to acquire Cablevision, at an enterprise value of USD 17.7 billion. BC Partners and CPP Investment Board hold a 30 percent stake in the company. Altice to lay off Cablevision's top ten executives - report

US operator Cablevision's top ten executives are expected to be laid off in a cost-cutting move by its new parent company Altice, reports the New York Post, citing unnamed sources. According to the report, Altice founder Patrick Drahi told Cablevision employees that he would fire executives earning over USD 300,000 when the deal was announced last year. Altice revenues fall 2.7% in Q1

Altice reported a fall of 2.7 percent in first-quarter revenue to EUR 4.260 billion, hurt by weakness in its main market France. Revenues were down 6.1 percent to EUR 2.573 billion at SFR in France, while its new US business Suddenlink recorded 9.0 percent higher sales at EUR 570 million. Altice announces executive appointments

French media and telecom group Altice has appointed Regis Turrini as head of regulation, government affairs and strategy. Masset joins Altice as head of HR

Michael Masset, formerly head of HR of the Dexia Group, joined Altice as of 1 December as head of HR. Michael Masset will report to Michel Combes, Group COO. Masset joined Dexia in 2003  where he held various positions. In 2011, he became the Deputy of the Group HR Director and succeeded him in August 2012 to deploy an HR strategy closely related to a group in orderly resolution.

French telecom group Altice has appointed 25-year telecom industry veteran Michel Combes as group COO in charge of international operations and chairman of cable and wireless operator Numericable-SFR. Combes was most recently CEO of equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent and was previously CEO of Vodafone Europe, chairman and CEO of TDF and CFO and senior executive vice president of France Telecom, now Orange.
