Drillisch to get access to up to 30% of Telefonica network

Drillisch said the agreement it reached with Telefonica Germany at the end of June will give its MS Mobile subsidiary access to up to 30 percent of the network capacity available following Telefonica's merger with E-Plus. The contract will run for five years initially, extendable via two five-year call options, giving a total potential contract duration of fifteen years.

In return, MS Mobile has agreed to provide at least 20 percent of its capacity to new customers for the initial five-year contract on a glide path. This means that access will taper upwards to 20 percent by the end of the contract period. There will also be a minimum capacity set aside for existing customers.

MS Mobile will take over 50 Telefonica shops initially at what it called attractive conditions, and has an option to take over up to 550 sites altogether. The deal with Telefonica will be realised through ae MBA (Mobile Bitstream Access) MVNO at some point between 01 January 2015 and 01 July 2015.
