Facebook to announce company name change at Connect event - report

Facebook is planning to change its company name to reflect its focus on building the metaverse, a source with direct knowledge of the matter told The Verge. CEO Mark Zuckerberg is expected to discuss the plans at the company's annual Connect conference on 28 October, and the company could unveil the name sooner, the report said.
