FCC approves plan to overturn net neutrality regulation

The US Federal Communications Commission is pushing ahead with plans to overturn the net neutrality regulations adopted by the previous administration. The Commission voted to start the rulemaking process proposed by Chairman Ajit Pai, ending the so-called Title II classification of broadband services as a utility which allows the regulator to impose net neutrality rules. In a statement, the FCC said it proposes to return to the previous Title I regime, which "preserved a flourishing free and open Internet for almost 20 years". The proposal will be open to a public consultation before the FCC
